Hey Ya All,
My name is Aunt Bell and I just found this varmint named Stryker out walking my range. He has asked me as a last request before I shoot him to tell a story. While I am telling that story, I will contemplate whether I should shoot him or not! He is kinda a good looking guy and since there are not many good looking guys around anymore! Well I might spare him…
I figure that out after my story telling…
You see I use to have a whole herd of cattle! I had 10,000 head and we pretty much kept to an semi-open range system and I even had a hundred men working for me, before all this hit…
Every guy and gal working for me was shot by me that terrible morning, that the Zombie Virus hit. Oh yes, I have green eyes and no one I knew in my group had green eyes…
I woke earlier than most of the others, as was my norm! I went and woke cookie as I called him, He always drank to much and I had to prod him to get up. But he could cook up a storm and he was faithful to the end, well until he became a Zombie, then he wanted to eat me…
My cook woke normal and it seemed that within 45 seconds or so he became a moaning, slobbering stumbling flesh eating Zombie. He bit his helper and the day went to hell after that. It was easy to kill everyone as they changed! They all tried to bite and eat cows. 10,000 head of cattle and they wanted to eat everyone of them…
So I just went and shot them as they tried to bite my cows. To be honest I ran out of ammo and ended up using our branding iron and beat a half dozen to death. I knew that old iron would be good for something…
The idiot Zombies could not bite through a cows thick skin, but they tried. Stupid Zombies…
So after that wonderful morning of the Zombie Virus, I let my cattle all go wild near the river we had stopped at and I wandered to the nearest town. It was a sight for my eyes. As I rode my horse into town, I was met by hundreds of Zombies and believe it or not, for months I have not seen a human. Well until Stryker showed up, everyone was a Zombie in my part of the world…
I had reloaded my ammo from all my dead workers guns and I was ready to clean this town up. I spent four days killing Zombies from horse back. I had gotten smart and was using my chaps of leather to protect my legs from bites and I had two lever action rifles, one on either side of my saddle, I had two six guns, colt 45’s and a double barrel shotgun slung over my shoulder…
I rode into town shooting and came out the other side. Reloaded while they stumbled after me and rode back through town again. I did this and it worked because the Zombies just gathered up in a huge pile of stumbling walking dead. They never knew which way to go…
When I was tired, I rode to beat the band out of town and rested. Then I started all over again…
Finally I had the town down to a few dozen Zombies and I got off horse back and walked into town. I shot them all dead…
Then I took my horse and some rope and tied up dozens of Zombies at a time. I then drug them out of town to a huge ravine that I found and after all the Zombies were in the ravine, I set them on fire. You know white gasoline real burns, but watch the flame backlash… 🙂
I then had the town to myself, with the exception of an occasional straggling Zombie. I then checked out the gun shop and reloaded my ammo supply. Then food became necessary. All the stores were closed up and sealed, as no one was even at work when it all hit. I found a Zombie in the post office and that was it…
So I had a huge store of food, all too myself and enough ammo and weapons to hold off an army, and army of Zombies that is… (Besides I have a bunch of beef to eat also!)
In the last few months I have been riding the range and killing Zombies that seemed to be lost and wandering aimlessly around the desert. They still give me the hebe jebe’s when I see them and when I saw Stryker I knew he was a human. The feeling you get as you watch a Zombie walk is strange and Stryker walked normal. I had not see that for awhile and it was a pleasant surprise…
I guess I will let Stryker live…
