The Zombie Ship…
I was just starting to crawl over the guard rail around the bow of the ship, when a huge hand grabbed me and tossed me like a rag doll onto the deck of the bow. I lay there stunned and as I tried to look up all I saw was this huge hand grabbing me again and it held me at arms length like I was a toy…
Then the hand dropped me and someone said, “Hey you are not a Zombie?” Then he said, “Sorry!”
I sputtered and stammered and said, “Wh-wh-who are yo-yo-yo-you!” Partly because I was sacred to death and partly because I was freezing and my body just realized it! It was very cold and I was still soaked from the ocean…
Then this giant of a man! I mean he was huge and looked to be literally the size of three normal men. I would say he was almost 7 feet tall and weighed 400 pounds of solid muscle. Then he said get down and as I dropped to me knees again. His big hand grabbed a Zombie, that was trying to get to us, by the neck and popped his head off like a pimple. I mean he just squeezed and off came the Zombie head…
I just realized that it was a minor miracle that he had not become a Zombie. For he would be one tough ass Zombie…
Then he nonchalantly kicked the head that he just popped off, over the side of the ship, kinda like it was a normal thing to do…
He helped me up and handed me a steel bar about two foot long and said, “Hi! My name is Rodney and you can help me clean the ship up!” He added as a nicety, “Please and call me Rod!”
I looked at the steel bar and it had a nice handle on it to absorb shock as you hit things with it, like a head! Then I looked and saw he had another one just like it, except it was about twice as thick and twice as long. I felt how heavy my bar was and realized that I could not even lift the one he had and he swung it like a tiny stick. I thought to myself, “Keep on his good side!”
I said, “Sure after I catch my breath, because I just came from the sub that it seems this ship rammed and sunk…”
He looked over the side and said, “Oops our bad!”
Then after a few minutes of deep breathing, the Zombies decided that I had enough rest and started to fill the bow deck of the huge ship!
Rod said, “Watch my back and I will take the lead…”
So for a few hours we killed Zombies and killed Zombies and killed Zombies. We finally made it to the bridge and once we cleaned the bridge out, we shut the bulkheads and tried to figure out how to get this ship moving…
We could feel the engines still running and we had power. It was a fairly modern warship that had complete computer control almost. We finally after a few hours figured out how to get the ship moving and found that unless we could go to the engine room, that we would have to settle for 5 knots of sailing speed! We were not sure that trying to go to the depths of the ship and fighting a thousand men, would be worth it. We were moving and we could change direction if needed…
So as the ship went forward toward who knows where. We went and killed Zombies and seal all the Zombies below deck. We finally cleared the deck and all important rooms like the radio room and such. Though the radio room was worthless, because we found out that the whole world was nothing but Zombies…
After we had settled down into a routine and found food and such. We started to talk and tell each other stories. I realized that he had green eyes just like me and he backed up a theory that I had with a few friends that had green eyes and they were killed by Zombies, but did not become one at first outbreak…
Night was the worst time. We tried to sleep and you could hear the Zombies beating on the walls and the wails and moans of the living dead, just was enough to send you to an early grave. Then one night we heard what sound like Morse code tapping on a pipe. Finally after a few nights we realized that someone else was alive…
We started to tap back and finally made contact. It was hard, because the more you tapped the more the Zombies howled all over the ship, but finally we confirmed that 5 guys were held up in a lower kitchen. They had hundreds of Zombies crushed against the doors of the kitchen. They said that they would fight to get to us if we will fight to get to them…
The reason that they have not tried to fight so far was because three of them were injured with broken legs and arms, but that they are splinted now and can fight. After another day of communication by tapping code, we decided on a plan of attack and tomorrow morning after sleep and looking at ship blueprints. Rod and I was going to start down and get these guys…
That is enough today and so tomorrow is Paul’s Story (Part 3…)
