The Half-Zombie Town… (Part 2)

How you do it and what you do…

Dr. Peters M.D. told me a story and here it is…

Hey I am Dr. Peters,

After I gave Stryker a new chair and apologized for being a stupid idiot, I am now going to tell you all what we do in this town. What we do to bring our kinfolks back from the dead, or at least half way back…

I discovered at the time of the Zombie Virus outbreak that there was one or two people who were resistant to the virus. (Like me!) They were resistant to the virus in its original form, but they could be infected by bites and such. So I began experimentation on a few people as myself and isolated a gene that caused the original mutation to not spread in a very few people…

But as we soon found out that the original protection was void after being infected one time, so I turned my studies to how to revert Zombies back to the living…

I discovered after being bit by a Zombie, that injecting good human blood into a Zombie caused a reaction, when combined with barium used in rodenticides. Rat poison? I use rat poison as it comes from the box and since we have a manufacturing plant here in our town, we have unlimited availability of the product. I was able to perfect the results and use it on myself before I became to far gone…

I created a daily injection that is necessary for us half Zombies to stay half Zombies. We can think, run, talk, sleep and eat. Though not really all that good at any and all of those things. Some of us are better than others at being a half Zombie…

So we started to go out on quests and capture humans not affected. We needed the good blood, to bring our families back from the dead. Hence we have a town of half Zombies and we are always needing fresh blood to help us. For without the fresh blood we would all revert back to Zombies in a few days…

So there you have what is happening…

We would appreciate it if you would leave us to try to survive! It is a dog eat dog world, you know?

——————–

I sat a few minutes and absorbed what he said, I saw sweat dripping down his face as he watched me in silence. I felt the tension from him as he knew I was debating the future of this town…

Then I stood up and leaned on the desk in front of him. I stared at him and said, “You have humans being held for their blood! Where are they?”

He stuttered and stammered and tried to tell me that they had no live humans. But he knew I knew better as they had to have a constant supply of blood to keep themselves going. I had shaken him up so bad that he messed up in telling his story and told too much…

I saw his eyes flicker to the door behind me and I spun with the sword in flight. It took the town law enforcement and sliced his head off very nicely. I then spun back to the Doctor and as the sword came to my hand. I touched the tip of the sword against his forehead and he screamed as the sword drew his life force from his body…

He pointed up as in upstairs and I withdrew the sword and walked out of the room. I looked back and saw a slumped Doctor in his chair. He was done for and he knew it…

I looked at the beheaded town law enforcement and saw his eyes following me. I would say that they are more Zombie than human and that is that…

I walked up the stairs and found half Zombies all over the place. They were tending to humans kept chained in 25 rooms in the upper floor of the big brick building. It was a regular blood bank and no one noticed me except the people chained into the rooms. The half Zombies were absorbed in their tasks and it looks like mental superiority was not big amongst the half Zombies. I would say that the Doctor was much smarter before all this happened…

Then I got mad! I am not sure why, but I just got mad. You see I am a very unforgiving god and this just kinda pissed me off. I started to grab half Zombies by the neck and toss them down the stairs, I just came up. One at a time I threw them down, until there was a huge pile of them at the lower floor. I saw the Doctor had made it out to the area I was throwing them and he fell amongst them as if in defeat…

Then I released all the people I found…

22 people being held captive for their blood. They were being drained of life like a bunch of vampires had them for a food source. I was getting ready to go down the stairs and kill the Zombies when someone behind me that I had let loose spoke up…

A woman said, “Wait!”

I turned and waited as I saw she was gathering what she wanted to say…

She said, “Lets us think about this before you kill them! I think that I could speak for many of us and say that we would be glad to work with this situation and try to develop a permanent solution to the Zombie Virus world that we live in.” Then she said, “I understand their desperation and we are human and hence we should forgive, but not forget!”

Several other spoke up that they feel that what had happened was very wrong and they almost died. They have lived in fear of what was being done to them, but that they had discovered that there was a possibility of saving the human race in this madness…

If the situation can be made to become a legit science issue, then they would be glad to work with these half Zombies and try o find a cure…

I thought about what was said and nodded in agreement…

I told them that I will stay one month and allow them to get the town under control and prove to me that this is worth it. I will decide the fate in one month…

Then I walked out of the building and went to find a cup of coffee and do some thinking…

Stryker…
