Emma and Clyde were from a Mormon family in the past. Their parents were Zombies and they were found by a group of wandering scum humans that took them encase they became useful as barter or bait. Well it seems that the bait was their allotment in life and that is when I came along…
Here is their story as told by Emma, for Clyde does not talk anymore…
We woke very early on our farm as we always do. It was raining and I knew that even though it was early it was still later than when we usually get up. You see we had chores to do and you never miss chores…
I woke Clyde and we got dressed and went down from the hey loft that we slept in to see what was up with mom and dad…
We stepped out side the barn loft and found mom and dad looking at the sky as it rained. They just stood there with their heads back and water was running out of their open mouths as their mouth was filled up…
I went and shock them and they did not respond or move. They just stared at the sky…
I took Clyde who was crying and we went into the house. We stared out the windows of the kitchen and watched them. It rained all day and as night came it still rained. I could see my parents breathing and the water was what they breathed. It looked like the devil had taken over our parents and it dawned on me that I would have to do something as I am the oldest…
I got dads double barrel shotgun down from the place over the fireplace. I knew where he kept the shells and I loaded the gun and sat in the hallway waiting. I knew that they, who ever they are my parents, would come inside sooner or later and I had to be ready if what they are is what I think they are…
My thoughts slid to the tales that we told each other, me and the other kids I knew. The stories of Zombies and devils…
I was deep in thought when Clyde who was hanging on to my leg as I sat, squealed…
In the door way was dad and mom just behind him. The rain had stopped and they woke up. Dad kept breathing out and water would flush from his lungs as he walked right toward Clyde and I. I tried to speak, but was frozen at the sight of my dads eyes…
They were white as an old persons eyes that sits on the street corner and begs for money because he is blind…
Dad moaned and then I heard and saw mom, she matched dad and she moaned as she smelled the air. They both smelled the air like something good was for dinner…
I knew how to fire a shotgun and was taught well by my dad. My dad also said if the devil ever takes anyone by the hand, then you must remove the devil by any means possible…
I looked at dad and said, “Sorry Dad!” Kaboom dads head came off at the shoulders. I knew that Zombies and devils only died if you shot them in the head…
Mom did not stop and I cocked the trigger on the second barrel and as she shuffled closer and closer I said, “Sorry Mom!” Kaboom and mom was laying on the ground next to dad and they were both as dead as a horse fly in poison…
Clyde never talked again after that, a few days later these guys came by the house and took us. They said that either we be good or they would feed us to the Zombies. I heard them talking about how we might be good for barter, trade and or bait for Zombies and such. We stayed quiet as they were a lot bigger and they did feed us some food and that was good…
Now you found us and we are going to stay with you!
