Zombie Story: The Theater… (Part 3)

I must of fallen a sleep after I shot my ex-girlfriend the Zombie. I really think that my mind just shut down after all that happened. When I woke it took me a few minutes to comprehend what was happening and why I was in a gun store. My stomach woke up before me and was growling and telling me that I was hungry. I looked around and saw that it was daylight and no food in the gun shop. Then I remembered everything like a bad wave of dirty water full of sewage flooding my mind. Zombies…

I decided after a few minutes of contemplation that I would carry a riot shotgun in 12 gauge and a Glock 9 millimeter with silencer and with a 31 round magazine and a bag of normal magazines fully loaded. I then was going to go gather some food and see what is happening outside…

I decided that staying hidden forever would not make me safer in the long run and I really wanted to see if anyone else survived…

I opened the door and then the gate of the gun shop and stepped out into the bright sunlight. The town square was empty and all I saw was bloody spots were people had been eaten and killed. Even my ex-girlfriend was gone from the front of the store…

I had the shotgun slung over my shoulder and held the Glock like a pacifier to keep my nerves calm as I crept into the open of the world. Nothing everything was quiet. I made my way to the grocery store across the street and the door opened as if everything was normal, but inside there was not a soul around…

The towns power supply came from a hydro damn and it was on auto as it always was, that much we knew as townspeople from living here. We were very lucky to have cheap energy all the time. So the electric doors at the 24 store knew no different as they shut behind me in the store…

I checked the store out and when all was safe, I gathered food and supplies. I made three trips and was on my fourth trip when things changed for the worse…

I had just closed the door of the gun shop and was halfway across the street of the square to go to a hardware store, when I heard the first moan of the day. I was running head down because the wind had picked up and it looked like rain. I heard that moan and at first I assumed it was the storm coming. I decided that I needed to get what I needed and get settled in for the night…

I ran into the hardware store and gathered batteries and a radio, plus a CD player for the movies that I had gathered earlier. I was frantic because something was telling me that things were going to get bad and I wanted to be inside the gun shop as it was a fortress…

I stepped outside and closed the door behind me. I also locked it back. I turned around and I almost wet my pants. The square was full of Zombies and they all were looking at me with that, “I want to eat your brains!” look…

Then it started to rain…

They all looked at the sky and were transfixed as it rained…

I finally got the nerve up and made my way through the Zombies and got to the gun shop. Not a Zombie moved, even when touched and bumped. Then I got into the gun shop and slammed the door shut. I put the stuff up and my heart was beating at a thousand miles and hour. I made it…

Then my brain slapped me across the inside of my head…

Rain, Zombies, mesmerized…

I looked out and saw that the rain was a long rain and very steady. So I grabbed another of the Glocks 9 mm with a 31 round magazine and stepped outside into the rain with one of the weapons in each hand…

I walked amongst the Zombies and kept muttering to my self, “Head shot! One shot one kill!” I had three rounds left as the rain was stopping and I stepped back into the gun shop…

Next morning the bodies were all gone and every time it rained after that point, I would toss a flash bang grenade and draw the Zombies before the rain. Then I would shoot them all when it rained. I knew that I was almost done when the Zombie bodies would be still left in the morning the next day. I had to start dragging the bodies off…

I realized that the Zombies ate the dead Zombies as a food source…

So after I killed all the “Rain Zombies” as I called them, I went door to door and killed the “Trapped Zombies” as I called them…

Out of 5ooo people in the town, I was the only one that survived.

The rest were Zombies…
